Hi Mary, I'm going to update my post to reflect the fact that this book is NOT going to be made. It was revealed late last year that while Herman Rosenblat was in fact at Buchenwald, he fabricated the story. As a result his publisher canceled the book and I can find nothing regarding the movie anywhere either.

I too have had this the first verse of this great poem echoing in my head for some time thanks to the wonderful TV series the 'World at War'. It encapsulates for me all the sadness and futility of war. When will we ever learn.

I understand this very stirring verse to be an extract from a poem by Junior Lieutenant Vladimir Pavlovich Antokolovski,
Killed in action, 6th June 1942

Jeff,

I loved this story about your son and the baseball game. Did you know that there is a website called blog2print that can actually print out your blog from this website?

Go to www.blog2print.com

You can pick and choose what postings to print to a book! It's awesome! I am thinking of doing it.
